Meestal ergens in het midden, eind Augustus begint de heide koorts weer te stijgen en kan ik het niet laten een bezoekje te brengen aan de mooie heidevelden wie Nederland rijk is. Zo ook dit jaar lag de heide er weer mooi bij op de Veluwezoom bij Rheden. 2018 was door de droogte een ramp jaar geweest en veel heide was dan ook helemaal weg, daarom was het best wel bijzonder om te zien hoe de natuur zich dit jaar terug had gevochten en al de paarse kleuren weer mooi zichtbaar waren. Geniet mee van de mooie paarse gloeiende heuvels bedekt met bloeiende heide. Eén van mijn meest favoriete heide wandelgebieden ligt in Nationaal Park de Veluwezoom, in de buurt van Rheden (Gelderland). In de zomer wandel je er over de glooiende heuvels en heidevelden van de Posbank.
De meeste bezoekers van de Posbank parkeren bij paviljoen de Posbank
Link parkeerplaats en lopen een rondje over de heide bij het uitzicht punt. Als u gewoon alsmaar het pad volgt loopt u zo in een boog rond de heuvel en middenin passeert u nog een stukje bos. Het is een wandeling van ongeveer een uur en prima ook met kinderen te doen. Op de website van Natuurmonumenten vindt u nog een uitgebreidere wandelroute van 6 km .
Een wandeling door het landgoed Heuven, langs de schaapskooi en over de heideheuvels naar Paviljoen de Postbank. Met af en toe een flinke klim of daling. Op het hoogste punt wordt deze inspanning ruimschoots beloond. Geniet bij helder weer van het prachtige uitzicht op het Herikhuizerveld en het IJsseldal.
Als u de Postbank wilt zien zoals u vaak op foto`s ziet voorbijkomen is aan te raden of om morgens vroeg of avonds voor zonsondergang te gaan zo kunt u genieten van de mooie kleuren en het prettige licht, een bijkomend voordeel is de tempraturen zijn ook een stuk aangenamer.
Tip: neem een laken en picknickmandje mee zo kan u onderweg gezellig uitrusten en genieten met een geweldig uitzicht
Zonsopkomst op de Posbank
Een bezoek aan de Posbank tijdens zonsopkomst met de rollende mist in de paarse heuvels, is voor veel fotograven een must do om een keer gefotografeerd te hebben.
Het is echter niet toegestaan om met de auto voorbij het wildrooster te rijden voor zonsopkomst of na zonsondergang. U dient daarom u auto te parkeren bij het bezoekerscentrum van Natuurmonumenten Google link
Vanaf de parkeerplaats is het een half uur lopen naar het uitkijkpunt vanwaar u foto`s mag nemen, let op u mag de heide niet betreden voor zonsopkomst en na zonsondergang hier dient u dus mee te wachten tot de zon opkomt.
Vanaf de Zijpenberg is het uitzicht ook heel mooi tijdens zonsopkomst maar vanaf het wildrooster is het een stukje verder lopen ik denk 40 min en de parkeerplaatsen zijn beperkt. Naar mijn mening zou het mooi zijn als natuurmonumenten een uitzondering zou maken in de maand Augustus, omdat het eigenlijk veel te gevaarlijk is om in de donker over de wegen te lopen, als u rond 10:00 de Posbank weer verlaat moet u overigens nog uitkijken dat u niet voor de sokken gereden wordt door een wielrenner, motorijder of auto die allemaal rond deze tijd ook wakker zijn geworden om van dit mooie stukje Nederland te genieten.

Fiets met Rondje Posbank langs de belangrijkste trekpleister van Nationaal Park Veluwezoom, de bijna 90 m hoge Posbank. Vanaf dit uitkijkpunt heb je een schitterend uitzicht over het fraaie reliëf dat zelfs voor Nederlands begrippen uitzonderlijk is. Bij helder weer kijk je meer dan 20 km ver en zijn zelfs de heuvels van Montferland en het Rijk van Nijmegen te zien. Dit wordt dan ook vaak een van de mooiste plekken van Nederland genoemd. Zeker wanneer in augustus de heidevlakte prachtig paars kleurt.

A visit to the blooming heather fields at the Posbank hills in the Netherlands

Most visitors to the Posbank park drive to the Posbank pavilion and walk around the heathland at the viewpoint area. If you just keep on following the path, you will walk around the hill in an arc and you will pass a small piece of forest in the middle. A walk through the Heuven estate, past the sheepfold, and across the heath hills to the Postbank Pavilion. Occasionally a steep climb or fall. This effort is more than rewarded at the highest point. In clear weather, enjoy the beautiful view of the Herikhuizerveld and the IJsseldal.
If you want to see the Postbank as you often see in photos, it is advisable to go early in the morning or in the evening before sunset so you can enjoy the beautiful colors and the pleasant light, an additional advantage is the temperature. a lot more pleasant.

Sunrise on the Posbank
A visit to the Posbank during sunrise with the rolling mist fields in the purple hills is a beautiful way to start your day.
Unfortunately, it is forbidden to drive the car past the wild game grid because it is not allowed to enter the heath with a vehicle before sunrise or after sunset. You should, therefore, park your car at the Natuurmonumenten visitor center. Google link
From the parking lot it is a half-hour walk to the vantage point from where you can take photos, please note that you are not allowed to enter the heath before sunrise and after sunset here you have to wait until the sun rises. From the Zijpenberg the view is also very nice during sunrise but from the game grid, it is a bit further walk I think 40 minutes, and the parking places are limited. In my opinion, it would be nice if natural monuments would make an exception in August, because it is actually far too dangerous to walk in the night on the roads, and if you leave the Posbank around 10 AM you have to watch out that you are not being hit by a cyclist, motorcyclist or car who have all woken up around this time to enjoy this beautiful part of the Netherlands.
