How to Reach Ko Kham Island:

Ko Kham is accessible by boat from Samaesan Sattahip. Visitors can arrange transportation from the mainland, and the journey itself becomes part of the adventure as the boat cruises through the calm waters, offering glimpses of marine life and the surrounding islands.

From Pattaya, I saw only a Russian tour going to the Island so you have to drive on your scooter or rent a taxi to bring you to Sameasan for the boat to Ko Kham

Location where you have to buy tickets for the boat be aware that there are not too many visitors allowed on the island and the first boat will leave at 09:00 so better avoid the Thai holidays.

It boosts eco-friendly initiatives:

  • no trash left on the island

  • you can’t bring food or drinks onto the island (there are places to buy food and drink) to cut down on waste

  • showering with soap or shampoo is not allowed

  • don’t feed the fish

  • don’t take anything from the island like rocks, animals, or coral

  • only 300-400 people are allowed on the island per day

Getting to the island might be a little challenging. The amount of foreigners that go here is minimal and a majority of the information will be written in Thai.

Tickets for foreigners are 600 baht and for Thais 300 which includes the ferry.

Where Is This Island Near Pattaya?!

Well, first there are two islands named Koh Kham. One near Pattaya and one near Koh Mak which is closer to Koh Chang near Cambodia. The second Koh Kham has an abandoned hotel on the island, which you may have heard of.

The island we visited near Pattaya is under the protection of the Royal Thai Navy in the Sattahip District of Chonburi province.
